Brandy Olbaum, aged for 10 years, is more than just a drink – it’s a story of love and respect passed down through generations.
Hugo Gutman, the founder of Chateau Chizay, dedicates this brandy to his grandfather, Shandor Olbaum – the man who taught him the values of hard work and respect for his homeland.
Olbaum Ukrainian Brandy features a blend of European and Ukrainian spirits aged for at least 10 years. These spirits underwent additional aging in French oak barrels previously used for Chateau Chizay’s signature wines. This process imparts not only a rich and velvety character to the cognac but also its distinctiveness.

Brandy Olbaum comes in special packaging that emphasizes its uniqueness. The elegant bottle is crowned with a luxurious solid wooden stopper. The box and gift bag are crafted with significant manual effort, rendered in an elegant brown tone – a nod to the classic French “3 C” cognac pairing rule: Café, Cognac, Cigare.
The premium design was chosen with care, reflecting a soulful dedication to this distinguished drink and to Shandor Olbaum, in whose honor it was created. We hope every connoisseur enjoys the experience to the fullest – from unboxing to savoring its exquisite taste.
Together with its quality and character, these features make Olbaum an exceptional gift.
When poured into a glass, the brandy reveals a deep yet radiant old amber hue.
Its bouquet is rich in dried fruit aromas, accented by notes of coffee, chocolate, and roasted nuts. The profile is layered and balanced, evolving over time to unveil balsamic notes, as well as hints of fruits, grapes, and raisins.
Brandy should never be served or consumed cold. If the bottle has been stored in a cellar, allow it to reach room temperature or warm the glass in your hands. Brandy is best enjoyed in specialized glasses that are wider at the base.
Brandy is traditionally served as a digestif, paired with (or in place of) dessert, making it an ideal conclusion to a meal. It pairs well with fruits that are not overly aromatic, mild cheeses with fig jam, a cup of coffee, or chocolate. It can also be savored alongside a fine cigar.
