Chateau Chizay holds an annual run, which takes place in the vineyard of Mala Gora. Chizay Wine Run is a 3.5 km race on picturesque slopes with sharp height differences.

Interestingly, the event has a prehistory of a century and a half: in 1869, young teachers from Berehove, who returned from studying in Budapest, created the first sports club in Transcarpathia and organized the first race in Chizay tract, which is mentioned in the book on sports history in Transcarpathia V. Fedaka.

Chateau Chizay Winery has decided to restore this beautiful tradition and start a new story of the sports holiday: Chizay Wine Run!

The first modern race took place on September 22, 2019. In September 2020, fifty runners took part, in 2021  64 participants aged 10 to 60 from different parts of Ukraine and even different countries, such as the USA, France, Czech Republic and Germany.

Chizay Wine Run brings together both experienced athletes and amateurs. All participants talk about the special emotions from the race through the picturesque vineyards.

By the way, the area of ​​the company’s plantations on Malaya Gora near Beregovo is almost 80 hectares, and this allows us to pave even a half marathon route, which we plan to do in the future.
