Zakarpattian Kahor – Author’s Edition is a special dessert wine from Zakarpattia.
Created by Zoltan Udvargelyi, Chateau Chizay’s chief winemaker, this wine is made from grapes hand-selected from the best vineyard plots. Only the finest clusters of world-renowned red grape varieties are used for this exceptional wine.

Zoltan blends Cabernet Sauvignon with other European varieties in a signature proportion, personally overseeing every stage of production required for crafting Kahor. Before bottling, the wine is aged for six months in precious oak barrels at Chateau Chizay’s cellar.

Gold medal Africa Wine and Spirits Awards 2019.

Silver medal Wine & Spirits Ukraine Awards 2019.

Zakarpattian Kahor Author’s Edition is traditionally chosen by monasteries and churches in Ukraine for religious celebrations and the sacrament of communion.

Deep ruby color with purple highlights along the rim of the glass.

An expressive berry aroma enriched with sweet nuances of chocolate, coffee, plum compote, and creamy dessert.

Exquisite balance of flavor and tannins, complemented by a velvety texture. Aging refines the taste, making it elegant, smooth, and delicate.
The aftertaste unfolds with notes of berry preserves, candied cornelian cherry, chocolate-covered cherries with cognac, and whipped cream.

Perfect as a dessert wine on its own or paired with Gorgonzola cheese, apple pies, or Prague cake.
