The already legendary sparkling wine with an extraordinary story and exceptional ageing. Only 49 bottles available. This is a strictly limited edition and will never be reproduced.
Sekt Selection Chersegi Brut Nature is Transcarpathia’s first traditional method sparkling wine. Crafted from early-harvest Cserszegi Fűszeres grapes grown in the Midianytsia microzone, it undergoes classic bottle fermentation and is aged on the lees for an exceptional 52 months, resulting in a truly unique sparkling wine.
Each bottle is individually numbered from 1 to 49. When placing your order, you may choose your preferred bottle number. Please inform our manager of your preference when confirming your order.
Fate gave this wine a unique place in history. It was laid down for ageing on 24 February 2022—the day that forever changed Ukraine. The ageing had been planned long before, and despite the events of that day, our team came to Château Chizay to carry out their work. This sparkling wine became the “Wine of War”, and we hope it will also become the Wine of Victory. Every bottle from this exceptionally small release is worthy of celebrating that victory—and makes a truly memorable gift.
This is a genuine collector’s rarity for wine enthusiasts who appreciate wines with both character and a remarkable story.
Important to know
This wine continues to evolve over time. Our traditional method sparkling wines are disgorged gradually, allowing each release to express itself differently. These bottles, having spent the longest time ageing on the lees, are expected to offer exceptional aromatic depth, complexity, and flavour.
After 52 months of ageing, this sparkling Cserszegi Fűszeres has developed a rich, deep golden colour.
It displays an expressive fruit profile, ranging from ripe orchard fruits to vibrant tropical notes.
The bouquet combines aromas of fruit, flowers, freshly baked pastry, and delicate spice.
On the palate, it is rounded, elegant, and harmonious, finishing with the variety’s signature subtle bitterness.
The mousse is refined, delicate, and persistent.
Food Pairing
Excellent as an aperitif. A classic companion to oysters, it also pairs beautifully with white fish dishes and shrimp tartare. It enhances any festive table, complements canapés with caviar and fresh salads, and offers an unexpectedly delightful pairing with grilled Transcarpathian trout.
Serving Recommendation
Serve chilled at 6–10°C (43–50°F). However, for those who appreciate the full complexity of mature traditional method sparkling wines, we recommend allowing it to warm slightly in the glass to fully reveal its layered aromas, nuanced flavours, and the elegant varietal bitterness that defines Cserszegi Fűszeres.
