A world-renowned variety, combined with expertise, craftsmanship, and time – this aged dry red Cabernet Sauvignon has become a collectible wine. The premium Founder\`s Reserve selection is made from grapes grown on the finest plots of Chateau Chizay’s own vineyards. The 2018 harvest was hand-picked from an 8-hectare plot in Mala Hora.
2018 – already a legendary vintage for Zakarpattia winemaking. The best season in a decade, thanks to favorable weather, allowed the creation of not just aged but collectible wines with luxurious aromas and exceptional balance of flavor.
The wine was aged for 2 years in French oak barriques, followed by an additional 48 months of bottle aging, which added complexity and harmony.
Only 398 bottles were produced (each individually numbered and signed by the winery’s founder) – don’t miss the chance to add one to your collection!
Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is an intense, rich wine with aromas of ripe black currant, blackberry, and plum, spiced with green and black pepper, complemented by notes of vanilla, chocolate, and smoky oak from barrel aging.
The rich aromas continue in a full-bodied, velvety palate. The finish is long and spicy.
This wine pairs beautifully with meat dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses such as Cheddar or Pecorino. We also recommend enjoying it with mature Zakarpattia artisanal cheeses and local meat delicacies.
