Wine of Ukraine – in Paris! Ukrainian wines were showcased at Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris.
Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris, a large exhibition and a meeting place for the global wine community, takes place under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron. Thanks to the efforts of the Corporation “Ukrvinprom” and with the support of international partners, Ukrainian winemaking and Ukrainian wine itself are being presented for the second time at this forum. The star of the Ukrainian stand once again was the branded dessert wine Chateau Chizay “Troyanda Karpat”.
Every year, Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris gather over 4,000 participants from 48 countries, with the exhibition being attended by around 40,000 guests from 155 countries. Among them are wine enthusiasts as well as industry professionals including winemakers, sommeliers, wine experts, distributors, restaurateurs, and journalists.
At the Wine of Ukraine stand, Ukrvinprom presented companies representing Ukrainian winemaking at the center of wine culture – La Cité du Vin. For the second year in a row, Chateau Chizay wines have been chosen as ambassadors for the industry at the world’s leading wine museum in Bordeaux.
In addition to the wine ambassadors themselves, guests of the exhibition could taste all the main styles of wines from Ukrainian winemakers.
They praised the skilled work with European varieties and overall high quality, showing particular interest in rare local varieties, including our Chersegi and Furmint.
Visitors to the Wine of Ukraine stand included partners from the Foundation for the Culture and Civilization of Wine (which oversees La Cité du Vin) who highlighted the growing attention to Ukrainian wines, in part thanks to the wine ambassador project.
Even more encouraging and indicative of the success of the national brand Wine of Ukraine is the fact that requests from foreign distributors for partnerships regarding the import of Ukrainian wines to Europe were received following the exhibition
Just a reminder, Chateau Chizay wines have been chosen as ambassadors of Ukrainian winemaking at La Cité du Vin in 2022 and 2023.
Representing our national industry there are our special positions – the Carpathian Sekt Chersegi brut sparkling wine and the sweet wine made from late-harvest botrytized grapes, Furmint Late Harvest.
And of course, the signature dessert white wine “Troyanda Karpat”, created according to the recipe of Transcarpathian winemakers in 1959.
To revive this legend of Ukrainian winemaking, Chateau Chizay planted its own Roter Traminer vineyards in 2006.
Today, “Troyanda Karpat” is one of the most famous and decorated wines of Ukraine, often representing our country abroad.
By the way, last year, for the first time in the history of Ukrainian wines, “Troyanda Karpat” was awarded the Platinum Medal at the Japan Wine Challenge competition.
