Comment from Chateau Chizay’s founder and owner, Hugo Gutman, on Chateau Chizay’s new awards:
“First of all, I want to congratulate the Wine & Spirits Ukraine team. Hosting a large-scale professional event in today’s Ukraine is a major challenge. We are grateful to you and to the jury for your dedication and professionalism, as well as for the tremendous effort you put into advancing Ukrainian winemaking.
I want to congratulate my dear team – these awards are shared by everyone who contributes to the creation of these drinks, from our agronomists to our managers. Thank you all. You’re amazing, and we’re moving forward together!
And I want to congratulate my family! For the first time, we presented a drink named in honor of our family, specifically my grandfather, Solomon Olbaum. This is a very special Ukrainian cognac, and it’s a new chapter in the Chateau Chizay story.
With the Olbaum Distillery brand, I’m honoring my grandfather, who taught me to love my native Zakarpattia, to love viticulture and winemaking, and to live by the values he instilled in me. These drinks, like those values, reflect what truly matters: respect, sincerity, and love.
You’ll have to wait a bit longer for this drink to hit the market, but trust me – it’s worth the wait.”
The Wine & Spirits Ukraine Expo, which hosts the Wine & Spirits Ukraine Awards, is the premier alcohol industry event in Ukraine and in Eastern and Central Europe, serving as a hub for industry professionals to connect, including retailers and exporters. This year, the competition saw 225 entries.
We’re ready not only to accept congratulations but also to take orders so you can enjoy the best wines of Ukraine! Our award-winners await you at chizay.com, in the “Gold Collection” and “Carpathian Sekt” sections.
We’ll keep you posted on the release of the Zakarpattia Cognac “Olbaum”. Meanwhile, you can try two available cognacs: Zakarpattia Cognac VSOP (5 stars) and Zakarpattia Cognac “Mala Hora” (7 stars).
