5 stars! Chateau Chizay won 5 awards following the results of the national professional tasting of National Wine Corporation
Wine experts from all over Ukraine evaluated 111 samples of wines purchased in retail chains. 5 Wines from Chateau Chizay are among the winners and received “Professional Choice Award 2020”. Traminer, Furmint, Blaufrankisch, Transcarpathian Cahors and “Rose of the Carpathians” from Chateau Chizay – 5 new victories for Chateau Chizay wine.
Samples for tasting are traditionally purchased by the commission only in retail chains. Therefore, experts from all over Ukraine (technologists, professional tasters, members of the Association of Sommeliers of Ukraine) evaluate the wines that customers buy day-to-day.
The evaluation was based on a 100-point system adopted worldwide for professional tastings.
111 samples competed in 31 categories, not only wines, but Ukrainian brandy, honey, fruit distillates as well. The samples are put into the equal bottles and numbered according to the code, so the tasting is going on a so-called blind basis.
One of the best results was reached by the wine company Chateau Chizay. 5 wines, most of which are already well-known in Ukraine and abroad received highest scores and first places in their categories.
These are white dry Traminer, aged white dry wine Furmint, red semi-dry wine Blaufrankisch (novelty), vintage dessert wine “Rose of the Carpathians” and sweet red wine “Cahors Transcarpathian”.
As Chateau Chizay COO Anatoliy Poloskov said after the announcement of the results, “the company considers the evaluation by National Wine Corporation to be one of the most important professional events in Ukraine.

It is important that the list of quality products from Transcarpathia grows, which is exactly in favor of the region: it is both economic development and new guests who come to Transcarpathia to taste local wines, drinks and taste excellent Transcarpathian gastronomy”.
Volodymyr Kucherenko, Chairman of National Wine Corporation, stressed that the professional evaluation proved that the Ukrainian product is of excellent quality and worthy of being chosen by both national and foreign consumers.
“We are forming a quality brand of Ukrainian wines, strengthening Ukraine’s position on the world map. We recommend consuming Ukrainian!”
