Ukraine will celebrate the Winegrower and Winemaker`s Day
The news that Ukraine will now have a new holiday – Winegrower and Winemaker`s Day – was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was on a working trip to Transcarpathia, on September 25 in the middle of the vineyards of Chateau Chizay in Mala Gora area near Berehove. He informed: The Decree “On Winegrower and Wnemaker`s Day in Ukraine” was signed.
From now on, every year on the second Sunday of November, a holiday will be celebrated in honor of people of noble profession, significant for Transcarpathia and promising for all of Ukraine.
The head of state also designated the unique vineyards, among which he spoke, another treasure of Transcarpathia together with wonderful hard-working people – Transcarpathians.
By the way, winemaking, along with the development of infrastructure, innovative industries and tourism, is named among the priorities in the Strategy for the Development of Transcarpathian region until 2027, which was presented during the official visit.
The Winegrower and Winemaker`s Day in 2020 falls on November 8.
