In 2023, over 1200 wines from 29 countries around the world participated.

The international jury evaluated the wines blindly, ensuring maximum objectivity and impartiality.

Both wines presented by Chateau Chizay received awards:

🌟 “Troyanda Karpat” dessert white wine – Platinum medal

🌟 Chersegi dry white wine – Bronze medal

Moreover, as part of the Japan Wine Challenge tradition of selecting the best national wines, “Troyanda Karpat” received the JWC Award for Best Ukraine Wine.

These accolades are particularly significant considering Japan’s demanding market standards. The country is highly developed, and its consumers have a keen appreciation for product quality and craftsmanship.

The organizers of the competition emphasize:

“The focus of the Japan Wine Challenge remains on raising consumer awareness and understanding of wines, leading to a continuous increase in sales of quality wines in this demanding market.

Exporters, importers, and trade representatives can assess the competition’s medals, which truly confirms that the awarded wine is a good choice for Japanese consumers.

We help winning wineries increase demand for their wines in Japan and around the world.”

It is worth noting that only 21 platinum medals were awarded at the Japan Wine Challenge 2023, making this high recognition for “Troyanda Karpat” a true global success.

Once again, the competition’s award reaffirmed the highest level of winemaking in Zakarpattia, particularly the uniqueness of “Troyanda Karpat”, which also serves as an ambassador for Ukrainian winemaking at La Cité du Vin, the wine culture center in Bordeaux, France.

Chateau Chizay has been exporting wines to Japan since 2020 and has conducted numerous tastings to demonstrate the quality of its products, showcasing its capabilities and potential at the highest level.

We highly value our cooperation with Japan in general, the Ukrainian Embassy in Tokyo, and Pioneer, the wine importers in Japan. This partnership is essential to us.

Pioneer presents Ukrainian wines as part of our country’s unique culture and authenticity.

With Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, our partners not only expressed unequivocal support but also organized humanitarian aid for the affected regions.

We are grateful for and proud of this friendship! And recalling the warm gatherings in Zakarpattia, we dream of meeting again at Chateau over a glass of Ukrainian…
