Carpathian Sekt Chersegi Brut Sparkling Wine Named a Ukrainian Wine Ambassador
The wines awarded the title of Ukrainian Wine Ambassador 2026 were honoured at a ceremony in Kyiv held as part of the international forum “Ukrainian Wine as Part of the World’s Cultural Heritage: From Trypillia to the Present Day.” The event was initiated by Ukrvinprom Corporation. Chateau Chizay’s Carpathian Sekt Chersegi sparkling wine has once again been recognised as an ambassador for Ukrainian winemaking. The wine previously received this distinction in 2023.
The organisers explain:
“From now on, these ambassador wines will represent contemporary Ukrainian winemaking and showcase Ukraine on the international stage, including at La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, France – a global centre of wine culture where Ukraine’s winemaking heritage has held a respected place for several years.”
Volodymyr Kucherenko, CEO of Ukrvinprom, emphasised that Ukrainian wine is an important means of representing Ukraine to the world today:
“Ukrainian wine tells the story of our land, our traditions and the people who work every day to create a quality product, even under the most challenging circumstances.
Through wine, we can tell the world about Ukraine – its culture, regions, traditions and modern potential.”
Carpathian Sekt Chersegi is a sparkling wine that has become a successful creative experiment by Chateau Chizay.
The Chersegi grape variety thrives in our terroir, inspiring our winemaker, Zoltan, to create a sparkling wine from it for the first time.
Today, it is one of Chateau Chizay’s bestsellers – a welcome choice for special occasions when you want to raise a glass of sparkling wine, as well as for simply unwinding after a busy working day.
