Brandy «Mukachevo» named Best spirit in its category at Ukrainian Craft Spirits Awards 2026
Our latest release, «Mukachevo» Brandy of Zakatpattia 8*, has been awarded a Gold Medal and the title of Best Spirit in Its Category at the professional competition Independent Craft / Ukrainian Craft Spirits Awards 2026. The competition was held for the seventh time and organized by the Ukrainian Craft Distillers Association.
Independent Craft (Ukrainian Craft Spirits Awards) is one of Ukraine’s leading professional competitions for craft spirits. This year, 144 samples were evaluated through a blind tasting process.
According to the organizers, both the jury and industry experts noted the significant improvement in the quality of Ukrainian craft spirits. For the first time in the competition’s history, a new vote-counting software system was introduced, helping automate the evaluation process and minimize the risk of technical errors.
The official awards ceremony will take place on June 12–13 during the Strong Craft 2026 Forum.
«Mukachevo» Brandy of Zakatpattia is the newest addition to Chateau Chizay’s collection of premium spirits. Remarkably, it received the Gold Medal and Best-in-Category title even before its official market launch.
This is already the second major accolade for the new release. Earlier this year, the brandy received a Platinum Medal and was named Best Spirit of the Competition at Wine & Spirits Ukraine Awards 2026.
These awards are especially meaningful to us because «Mukachevo» Brandy 8* is dedicated to the city where the story of Chateau Chizay began – the birthplace and source of inspiration for the company’s founder. The release is strictly limited to 1,130 bottles, created in honor of Mukachevo’s 1,130th anniversary.
We spent years developing this spirit to achieve the finest possible result – impeccable taste combined with a distinctive character and inner energy. Our new brandy is dedicated to Mukachevo, a city located at the crossroads of cultures, histories, and traditions, celebrating its remarkable anniversary this year.
It was in Mukachevo that the story of Chateau Chizay began. The city remains a symbol of strength, inspiration, and heritage for our founder. We are especially proud to present this release on May 15, the birthday of Hugo Hutman, founder of Chateau Chizay.
Mukachevo Brandy is produced according to classical methods and matured in oak barrels for more than eight years. It combines structure, depth, and noble softness.
🌟 A rich amber color with copper reflections immediately reveals its maturity and elegant character.
🌟 The bouquet opens with notes of dried fruits, vanilla, and chocolate, complemented by delicate spicy nuances.
🌟 The palate is deep and multi-layered, featuring walnut-honey and fruit notes. A long finish leaves a lasting impression of harmony and completeness.
«Mukachevo» Brandy – a story and a taste shaped by craftsmanship and time.
